The South Bay Surf Awards is a friendly competition designed to reward the best surfing captured over the entirety of the Winter season. Prizes will be awarded for the biggest wave of the winter, the subjective best ride, the grom hardest charger (18yrs old or younger), and the surfer who survives the heaviest wipeout. Competitors must submit a photograph or video of the ride by March 31st to be considered by our panel of judges.

The South Bay Surf Awards are open to all surfers, on any wave ridden in the South Bay between November 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024.

Winners of each of the five categories listed below will be awarded at the “Surfers Walk of Fame Kick-Off Party” event happening at the Hermosa Community Center in late April 2024.

Prizes for the Biggest Wave and the Wipeout of the Year will be awarded to both the surfer and photographer
